Tornado Warning!

Tornado warnings are not fun.  Though one was not spotted or anything in Burleson.  We did have a warning, while it was time for elementary school to let out.  So the boys and I were already in the car at the school waiting in line when they issued the warning.  It started pouring down rain and hail the size of dimes, I was trying to find cover for the boys and I.  I drove down the road to our bank with my husband on the phone.  The banks lobby closes at 3, it was 3:22.  I figured I would try anyway.  So in the pouring rain, I rain out to the doors while the boys were still in the car, two seconds later I arrived back in the car, the doors were locked, and I was soaked.  So I drove to the Health South buliding behind the bank.  The hail was so bad, I opened the boys door and it hit them both in the faces.  We decided to stay in the car and ride it out --- Scary.  The hail was coming down hard hard and I felt helpless.  Luckily it let up a little bit later and we were able to go back to the school and pick Julie up finally at 4 pm.    I don't like feeling like that at all!!!

Baby Dedication

My part side of our family on Baby Dedication Sunday 2008
(Julie was with her Dad)

Yesterday was such a blessing to me.  We had baby dedication at our church, which is something not normal seen at a Church of Christ church.  But something I was used to growing up in a non denominational church.  A baby dedication is where your dedicate your child to Christ in front of family and friends, vowing to train up the child in Christ and the church.  Our church dedicated all the baby's born in 2008.  There were quite a few of them.  We each gave three photo's and they put together a slide show for the service.  There are some
handsome baby boys and beautiful little girls in our congregation.   We really enjoyed having our family and friends come up with us, they prayed over us.  Le Ann, Ms. Linda, and Megan came up for Cody Thomas Stinson.

It was truly awesome to share dedication of our child to christ with our family and our church family.  I wish Larry's family could have been there but it's kind of hard to get there from Africa.  And the rest of my family is Japan and North Carolina.  I am looking forward to all the babies to be born this year.  My brother, Randy and his beautiful wife, Brittany are going to have their second baby, Conner in April, in North Carolina.  My brother, Steven and his beautiful wife, Becky are going to have their Fourth baby, Alexis Kate in May
in Japan.  We are thinking of them both very much during this last trimester with out any family close by.   Please keep them in your prayers during these last couple of months.   Both my brothers are in the United States Marine Corps.

Healthy living.....

Cody is 8 1/2 months old.  We finally gave him his first biter cookie.  He love it and had to have a bath afterwards.  He is starting to only want big people food and we were only on stage 2 in baby food.  Looks like I am going to have to make sure each meal is healthy.   Which we had already planned to do.  It is so hard to plan for the whole family.   Julie hates salad,  Ronnie loves salad.    Ronnie doesn't care for corn unless it's on the cob.  Larry hates broccoli and spinach,  I love them both.    Cody is still a baby so we have to make sure we eat things that he can too.   Plus stay on a budget and be healthy for 5 people.   We have started walking each night or doing some form of exercise.  It seems to be helping with sleeping schedule.

Julie on First Base with Daddy Larry
Julie at Bat with Dad Richard

We are coaching softball this season for Julie's team, Lonestars.  We have 10 girls, one six year old, Julie and the rest are about 5 years old.   It is definitely a growing experience for Larry and I.  We are also coaching with Julie's dad.  Luckily Larry and Richard getting along rather well. (Scary?)   We had three games this weekend, the girls are really tired.  And we have another 3 games next week.  Julie hit a home run at yesterdays game.  We have yet to win a game but today was closer.   I am busy in the dugout most of the time either getting the girls ready to bat or getting things ready while the girls are out in the field.   We hope to win soon and are looking forward to the rest of the season.
